We propose the use of resource reservation for the wireless link access for both downstream and upstream directions based on the experimental results.
The path recovery scheme requires the involvement of many more nodes and the global network resource information, thus requiring high communications overheads. The semi-path-based scheme is similar to the pathbased scheme, except that the disconnected traffic is rerouted from the upstream node of the failed link instead of the source node. Without cranking back to the source node, the semi-path-based scheme has the recovery speed comparable to the link-based scheme.
