6 Conclusions The Priority Registers Mechanism (PRM) of QoS management for ring-type synchronous slotted OPS networks is proposed. It was intended for managing of traffic of different QoS classes, where one wants to treat different classes of traffic fair, not allowing to block traffic of medium classes by packets of Premium class. As simulation results confirmed by Markovian analysis show, this aim is fulfilled. All computations, which results are shown in the paper, were performed on computing cluster "Leming" in IITiS PAN Gliwice.
This Markov chain is composed of two variables: • the hidden-state variable, whose temporal evolution follows a Markov-chain behavior (xn ∈ {s1 , . . , sN } represent the (hidden) state at discrete time n with N being the number of states) • the observe variable, that stochastically depends on the hidden state (yn ∈ {o1 , . . , oM } represent the observable at discrete time n with M being the number of observable) An HMM is characterized by the set of parameters: λ = {u, A, B} 42 J. Nowak and P. Pecka tokens are inserted into the network. "Best Effort" packets are inserted only when there are no waiting packets of a higher class. After using all the tokens in the node they are assigned again in the initial number. Another assignment of tokens to the initial value takes place also after T time has passed. In order to justify the introduction of the mechanism of assigning tokens again after a given time T passes let’s consider the following option: customers entering data into the network by means of a given node don’t generate information of a given q class, other than Premium and Best Effort.
